What is Perinatal Distress?

Perinatal distress is any mental health challenge faced by the mother during the 1000 day period from conception till the toddler stage of the child. These challenges may range from anxiety, low mood to depression, even PTSD. In some cases with prior history, episodes of psychosis may occur. Fathers also may face similar challenges. These conditions are easily screened and are treatable.
